On May 22, PGC had a film crew come to PGC to shoot a commercial that will feature a glider theme for the backdrop. This was a pretty big deal with about 30 people in the film crew plus all the associated RV's, lights, cameras, sound equipment, etc. It was a circus, but nonetheless interesting as we saw a little slice of Hollywood in action. The benefit to us is that any exposure of gliders on national TV is good for the sport, and the production company will be making a donation to the club for use of the facility. (Bob Lacovara)

Yes, this is PGC ... you can see the hanger and a green thing on the left behid the equipment.

Yep, these guys are finding out that PGC does not sit exactly on a flat spot.

The hard setup work gets completed ... just as the hor'derves arrive.

Yep, that guy sitting on the green thing is the actor ... jeez, anybody from PGC could have played this part !

Hey, can I drive ?

PGC pilots also enjoyed a nice day while all this stuff was going on. |

The guy on the right in the glider hat and the shirt from Chip Fitzpatrick's wardrobe is the director.

Once the track is down, the crew installs the massive dolly and camera.

OK ... getting ready to yell action ... how come he isn't wearing a backwards baseball cap.

Panning out for the big picture ... Lacovara is thinking he could dump this guy just by hitting the gas.

I wanna be a star! |
