High-performance racing gliders in a contest grid at PGC ready to take a run at the Governor's Cup, a season-long race series between clubs in the tri-state area. The yearly winner has typically been Aero Club Albatross (ACA) in NJ. However, the growing PGC XC team posted a strong challange in 2005 ... and will continue to be a force going forward.

Members of the PGC Cross Country team discuss tactics for the task and have brunch before launching.

August 22, 2005 - A historic event as five PGC pilots (Kiray, Nick, Kochanski, Cotter, and Bauder) complete the Governor's Cup course on the same day. This put PGC within striking distance of ACA.

September 5, 2005 - Six PGC pilots (Peterson, Cotter, Fitzpatrick, Finestone, Nick, and Lacovara) complete the Governor's Cup and this puts PGC ahead of ACA for the first time in Guv Cup history.

Bud Bauder prepares his ASW-27 for the day's racing task.

Tom Peterson (TP2) launches on the GC in his Ventus.

Jack Goritski on course in the PGC Grob 103.

Bob Lacovara (Standard Jantar)

Rich Kiray (LS-1)

John Cotter (DG-300)

Richard Kellarman (ASW-27)

Chip Fitzpatrick (ASW-27B)

PGC competes against arch rival Aero Club Albatross (ACA) for the Governors Cup title each season. From the looks of this ACA pilot (Bobby Templin), it is obvious the pressure from the PGC X-C Team has them working hard to keep up with the challenge.
